CityView and the USC School of Policy, Planning, and Development (SPPD) cordially invite you to attend a very special presentation, “Blueprint for American Prosperity: Unleashing the Potential of a Metropolitan Nation.”
Bruce Katz, director of the Brookings Metropolitan Policy Program, will give a presentation on a new Brookings Institution initiative concerned with the United States’ national competitiveness.
The presentation will be moderated by the Honorable Henry Cisneros, executive chairman of CityView and former U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.
Responses to the presentation will be given by prominent civic and business leaders and SPPD faculty, including Eric Garcetti, Los Angeles City Council president; Suzanne Nora Johnson, senior director and retired vice chairman at the Goldman Sachs Group Inc., USC Trustee and Brookings Institution Trustee; Russell Read, chief investment officer, The California Employees’ Retirement System; and Dowell Myers, USC professor of Urban Planning and Demography.
The session offers a powerful argument: The ability of the United States to compete globally and to meet the great economic, environmental and social challenges of the 21st century rests largely on the health, vitality and prosperity of the nation’s major cities and metropolitan areas.
