Teaching Assistant Professor in Real Estate Development
The University of Southern California School of Policy, Planning, and Development (SPPD) seeks applicants for a non-tenure-track teaching faculty appointment. Under the direction of Dean Jack H. Knott, the school has a strong commitment to hiring in the areas of real estate finance and development.
Position Description and Qualifications:
Applicants should hold an advanced degree, have substantive professional real estate experience, and demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate education. Prior experience in university level teaching is preferred.
Primary instruction duties will be in SPPD’s undergraduate program and include courses on real estate principals, real estate market analysis, and real estate finance. Additional teaching responsibilities in the Master of Real Estate Development program and in Executive Education as appropriate may be available as well. This position will require teaching six classes over the school year (Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters).

- SPPD offers both an undergraduate major and minor in real estate development. This undergraduate area of study is the school’s highest growth area.
SPPD’s master’s degree programs are widely recognized for their excellence. The highly regarded Master of Real Estate Development is considered amongst the top two or three programs nationally.
- The Lusk Center for Real Estate is an internationally recognized research center. The Lusk Center is affiliated with both SPPD and the Marshall School of Business.
