Teaching Professor in Urban Planning and Policy

The University of Southern California School of Policy, Planning, and Development (SPPD) seeks a non-tenure track teaching professor appointment in the area of urban planning. Level of the appointment is open. The position is a full time fixed-term appointment.

Position Description and Qualifications:
Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in an appropriate field and/or a Master of Urban Planning or similar degree and previous work experience in a related professional field. In addition, evidence of previous excellent post-secondary teaching performance is expected.

The appointment will involve teaching responsibilities primarily in the School’s undergraduate degree program (B.S. in Public Policy, Management and Planning) and secondarily in the Master of Planning degree program, potentially including Introduction to Urban Planning and Development, The Urban Context for Policy and Planning, History of Planning and Development, and The Social Context of Planning. The expected teaching load is 24 units (6 courses per year).
