He advocates new ways of thinking about government and governance.

Erroll G. Southers
Deputy Director of Homeland Security, State of California

Recently appointed Deputy Director of Homeland Security for the State of California by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Erroll Southers is a nationally-recognized authority on workplace and school violence, hate crimes, and crisis management. He holds a master’s degree in public administration from the USC School of Policy, Planning, and Development, and is co-chair of the new SPPD Alumni Council.

Sherry Bebitch Jeffe

SPPD Senior Scholar Sherry Bebitch Jeffe recalls when she decided to get involved in politics.

"One day in high school, I met a man named John F. Kennedy," she says. "In 1960, I worked on his presidential campaign."

Jeffe's interest in politics has only strengthened since then. Today she is regarded as one of the nation’s most astute political analysts and writers.
