Executive Education

In addition to the five traditional master's degree programs, the School of Policy, Planning, and Development also offers three executive master’s degree programs, leadership programs, special professional programs, as well as executive academic seminars at the USC State Capital Center in Sacramento.

Degrees:

Executive Master of Health Administration
The Executive Master of Health Administration (EMHA) program provides a tremendous opportunity for seasoned clinical and management professionals to advance or to transition their careers in the dynamic field of healthcare. It is flexibly designed to accommodate the schedules of fully employed mid- to senior-level professionals, enabling them to work and earn their degrees at their own pace, as they continue to progress in their careers. Participants sharpen their business acumen by gaining exposure to and in-depth knowledge of the latest theories and best practices in contemporary health management.

Executive Master of Leadership
The Executive Master of Leadership (EML) degree is designed for professionals with five or more years of significant management or leadership experience. The EML program teaches effective leadership practices through a curriculum with three distinguishing features: leadership through core values, a multidisciplinary problem-solving approach, and an emphasis on transformational leadership that connects the public, private and nonprofit sectors.

Master of International Public Policy and Management (IPPAM)
The International Public Policy and Management (IPPAM) program offers a Master of Public Policy and Management (MPPM) designed for international students and U.S. students working in international settings. This executive program targets mid-career professionals with experience in government, nonprofit agencies or business firms engaged in the design, planning and management of social programs and services. Courses identify pressing public policy problems in the social sectors and provide the analytical and managerial expertise to foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills needed in designing creative policy solutions and managing programs.

Short-Term Programs:

Leadership Programs
SPPD's Leadership Programs are interactive seminars designed for skill building and development of leadership abilities. Lessons from these seminars can be readily taken from the classroom into the public and nonprofit sectors. The curricula provide real approaches to real problems, and the courses are expressly designed so participants can begin using lessons immediately in the workplace.

The USC Ross Minority Program in Real Estate (RMPIRE) is an intensive, comprehensive continuing education program designed to provide real estate practitioners, non-profit and community leaders, public sector decision makers, and entrepreneurs with skills and expertise to influence the redevelopment process in traditionally underserved communities.
