Master of Public Administration/Master of Arts in Jewish Communal Services
The Master of Public Administration/Master of Arts in Jewish Communal Service (MPA/MA) has been developed to prepare those who want a career in Jewish communal service. Students receive a solid academic and experiential foundation in the American Jewish experienceits history, culture and ways of getting things donecombined with the theory and practice of community organization and administration.
Requirements
Students must complete 88 units of coursework, 36 units in public administration and 52 units from the Hebrew Union College. The students must also complete 24 months in supervised fieldwork.

Cross-Sectoral Governance (PPD 500) 4 units
Public Financial Management and Budgeting (PPD 541*) 4 units
Professional Practice of Public Administration (PPD 546) 4 units
Human Behavior in Public Organization (PPD 545) 4 units
Students take one course from the following:
Policy and Program Evaluation (PPD 542*) 4 units
Quantitative Analysis I (PPD 557*) 4 units
Administration Research and Analysis (PPD 666*) 4 units
Students take two electives from the following:
Financial Accounting in the Public and Nonprofit Sector (PPD 516x) 4 units
Entrepreneurship and the Public Sector (PPD 668) 4 units
The Voluntary Nonprofit Sector and Public Policy (PPD 689) 4 units
Nonprofit Management and Leadership (PPD 675) 4 units
*Satisfying the statistic requirement is a prerequisite to PPD 541, 542, 557, and 666.
