John Cochran is president of AllHealth, the Hospital Association of Southern California's (HASC) business subsidiary. AllHealth provides hospital, physician organizations and health plans with products and services to increase revenues, decrease costs or meet regulatory requirements. President of AllHealth since April 2000, Mr. Cochran built this startup company into a $10 million annual business with 250 employees. AllHealth is the largest hospital security company in Southern California, and provides provider credentialing to 10,000 physicians and healthcare providers across the United States. AllHealth is developing an industry leading technology that will provide hospitals with vital economic information.

Prior to joining AllHealth, he had more than 30 years of executive experience in healthcare. He was senior executive with CHW and UniHealth directing their managed care operations; a chief executive officer of two hospitals in Orange County; and COO/CFO at Verdugo Hills Hospital, the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics, Children’s Hospital Oakland, Cedars Sinai Medical Center, and the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services.

Mr. Cochran has a career-long interest in public policy and healthcare issues. He was appointed by the Orange County Board of Supervisors to the CalOptima Board of Directors and elected four times as the chair of the board of this innovative MediCal health plan with 200,000 members. He has served on the California Health Facilities Loan Insurance Advisory Committee and the American Hospital Association Financial Solutions Advisory Board. He was elected chair of the Hospital Association Board of Directors in 1998.

Mr. Cochran has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the California Hospital Association Award for developing CalOptima, the American College of Healthcare Executives Award for the creation of the ACHE Chapter that provides early and mid-career education and networking for all of Southern California, and the Management Innovation of the Year Award from ACHE in 2004. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Political Science from University of Oregon, a master's degree in Governmental Affairs, and the Harvard University Program in Health Systems Management.
