Internships

To put into practice the analytical skills learned in the classroom, MPA students participate in internships. Internships may be completed during the academic year or in the summer. Interns explore different organizational settings—political offices, public agencies, nonprofit organizations, consulting firms, public affairs firms—and track legislation, conduct surveys and propose solutions on several different policy issues.

The following are samples of recent internships open to public administration students:

  • U.S. Senator's office
  • Asian Pacific American Dispute Resolution Center
  • Offices of Los Angeles City Council Members
  • Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department
