About Us
The Population Dynamics Research Group was
organized in 1999 and is the principal research arm of the USC School of
Policy, Planning, and Development for supporting research activities using
census data, population forecasts, immigration and diversity, housing and
urban growth patterns. Population growth and change is important to public,
private, and nonprofit policies aimed at improving the human condition in
urban areas. Principal funding support is through projects funded by the
National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, the Fannie Mae
Foundation, Ford Foundation, METRANS, Haynes Foundation, and others.
The research unit is also USC's representative to the state data center
network operated by the U.S. Census Bureau. We are designated a State Data
Center Affiliate Agency through the California Department of Finance.
