Education Background:
B.A. ¨C Cultural Anthropology, University of Washington
Minor in Apparel & Costume Design

Interests within the Planning field:

While I am in the Public Administration degree program at USC, I feel urban planning and development overlaps in many areas and that I can learn about management by understanding more about planning. My specific area of interest is developing community cohesiveness and interconnectedness through artistic and cultural programming. I am also interested in cultural preservation and management of cultural resources.

What you expect to learn from the Berlin Lab?

I hope to gain insight and understanding into urban planning and strategic urban design as well as learn more about the history and culture of Germany. I also hope to learn more about Los Angeles and the culture of the US through the perspective of the German students.

Job Experience:
Most recently I was employed by the Seattle Art Museum as the Education and Public Programs Coordinator. My main goal was to cultivate relationships with the diverse communities of Seattle and jointly develop culturally relevant educational programs offered in conjunction with the museumĄ¯s special exhibitions. Prior to this I worked at Vulcan Northwest as the Marketing and Public Relations Specialist for the Creative Division. Vulcan is the private company managing the business, creative and philanthropic endeavors of Paul G. Allen, co-founder of Microsoft. I developed marketing and promotional campaigns as well as public relations strategies for a variety of creative projects. These included among others, the Experience Music Project, an interactive, state of the art music museum, independent films such as, Titus, starring Anthony Hopkins and Jessica Lange and Evolution, a public television series developed jointly with Martin Scorsese and WGBH - Boston.

Languages:
sadly, just English.

Other Interests:

I am a little interested in just about anything and everything!
