Crisis Response Team

About this service

For life-threatening emergencies, always call 911. At times of crisis, you may find yourself emotionally overwhelmed or experiencing severe emotional distress. Some examples of crises include: a recent death; sexual assault; having thoughts of suicide or homicide; experiencing hallucinations (seeing or hearing things); being the victim of crime; or any other debilitating concerns. When you feel more immediate help is necessary, our crisis therapists are available.

How to utilize this service

When you feel that you are unable to wait for a regularly scheduled intake, please indicate that you are in crisis and would like an appointment with a crisis counselor. The crisis counselors are available during normal business hours, 8:30-5.

For after hour emergencies, please contact the counseling center at 213-740-7711. Press 0 during the message to be connected to a triage nurse.
