Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program in College Mental Health
Track 1 - College Mental Health and Disability Services

This training program offers a variety of clinical, supervisory, consultative and administrative experiences that are intended to provide a clear picture of what it is like to work as a psychologist both at a university counseling center and a disability services program. We believe the unique combination of college mental health services and disability services provides an important niche within the profession of psychology. The postdoctoral fellows will receive advanced training in psychological services for college students with disabilities. In addition, they provide consultation to faculty and staff regarding disability accommodations. Fellows will acquire an in-depth understanding of the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 (ADA 504) in higher education.

The central training goal of the program is that the postdoctoral fellows complete their fellowship with advanced knowledge, confidence, and competence in the following areas of clinical practice:

short term therapy

group counseling

awareness and appreciation of human diversity, including diversity related to disability issues

professional ethics and decision making

clinical assessment, including psychological assessment of learning disabilities and ADHD

crisis intervention
