PHE Program

We want you to volunteer with us as a Peer Health Educator (PHE)! PHEs are trained volunteers, USC students, and important members of our staff. They run our Resource Room and are the counselors/testers in our Anonymous HIV Testing and Counseling Program.

How can YOU be a PHE?

Apply: We start recruiting in late September-early October. Look for ads in the Daily Trojan or send in your application today and we will contact you.
Interview: In November we will review applications, call candidates for an interview and make our selection. We typically have 15-25 PHEs volunteer with us at a time.
Train: If you are selected as a PHE, you MUST attend all of training. Training takes place over two weekends in late January and early February.
Commit: The time commitment after training is to have volunteer office hours two hours a week (with an additional hour every other week for staff meeting) for a minimum of two semesters.
Questions: Call us at (213) 740-4777.
