Health Fee and Eligibility

You may utilize services at the University Park Health Center if you have paid the current semester Student Health Fee.

You are automatically charged the Student Health Fee on your fee bill if:

You are a student at the University Park Campus during the Fall or Spring semesters and are taking 6 units or more.

You are a student on the University Park Campus and registered in Summer Session 1 and/or 2. (Students will only be billed for, and receive services during, the summer session they are enrolled.)

You are NOT automatically charged, but, may pay the Student Health Fee if:

You are a student on the University Park Campus during the Fall or Spring semesters and are taking less than 6 units.

You are a continuing student from the Spring Semester, not enrolled in a summer session, but would like to receive summer services.

Continuing students may use the University Park Health Center during Winter or Spring recess periods if they have registered for the following semester and paid the Student Health Fee.

While the Student Health Fee covers most services provided at the University Park Health Center, there are nominal co-payments and fees for some services. For a list of those fees, please see our Fee Booklet.

Please call the University Park Health Center Cashier at (213) 740-0238 for more information on eligibility and fees.

The Student Health Fee vs USC Student Health Insurance Plan

The health fee is a separate fee from the USC Student Health Insurance Plan.

The health fee provides services at the University Park Health Center. It does NOT cover services provided outside the health center. For this reason, the University requires all students to have health insurance. This will help cover the cost of health care that cannot be obtained at the University Park Health Center, especially in an emergency situation where hospitalization may be required.

The Student Health Insurance Plan works in conjunction with the University Park Health Center and the Eric Cohen Health Center (located on the Health Sciences Campus) and is designed to complement the services provided. For more information on the insurance plan and requirement, please call: (213) 740-0551, e-mail us at: uscins@usc.edu or click on: Student Health Insurance Plan.
