Usually, after reviewing the stated initiatives from USC's Division of Student Affairs Strategic Plan, you would be able to identify which initiatives resonates with your programs and services mission statement and/or goals.

a) To understand if students are learning from your programs and services overall
b) To implement some tenets from the Strategic Initiatives in your programs and services
c) To inform additional stakeholders about your programs and services
d) To utilize resources (i.e. time, money and people) effectively
3. Who is responsible for implementing our assessment plan?
Ideally, all individuals involved with the programs and services, in conjunction with an identified group or committee. The hope is to share the responsibility of the assessment plan with your staff, department, programs and/or services.
4. How long does an assessment planning process take?
Depending upon what you are assessing in your programs and services. Ask yourself, what is the duration of your programs and services? Some programs and services may be the duration of a semester, short seminar, one day program, two weeks, monthly or even a full academic year.
