Harris
Stayce Harris is a first officer on the Boeing 747-400 aircraft for United Airlines. Based in Los Angeles, CA, her primary routes are to Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. Ms. Harris was born in Los Angeles, California. She attended 71st High School, Fayetteville, North Carolina graduating in 1977. Stayce holds a bachelors degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering awarded in 1981 from the University of Southern California. She holds a masters degree in Aviation Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where she is currently an adjunct faculty member. Stayce received her flight training from the United States Air Force. While on active duty, she was rated as a C-141B aircraft commander logging over 2500 hours. She is still active in the Air Force Reserves holding the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Currently, Stayce is assigned to the Secretary of the Air Forces staff at the Pentagon. Ms. Harris was the second Black female pilot in the United States Air Force. Stayce is the first Black female to fly the Boeing 747 aircraft, the worlds largest commercial aircraft. Stayce performs volunteer work for various service organizations with the emphasis on mentoring youth. She is a member of the Links, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and the Rotary Club of Los Angeles. Her professional affiliations include the Organizations of Black Airline Pilots, ISA+21 (Women Airline Pilots) and Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. Ms. Harris has received numerous awards from military and civic organizations. |
