Counseling
The Center for Women & Men offers counseling free of charge to students, staff and faculty, regardless of gender.

The Center’s counseling services include:

  • Short-term crisis intervention and drop-in problem solving;
  • Individual counseling for survivors of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, stalking, sexual harassment, childhood sexual abuse and other gender-related harm;
  • Support groups for survivors and their friends.

Student Counseling Services also offers confidential counseling and support groups on a variety of other topics. To schedule an appointment with Student Counseling Services, call (213) 740-7711 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays or visit their offices in room 100 of the YWCA Building on the University Park Campus.

Does the Center for Women & Men offer support groups?

Yes, the Center for Women & Men offers a weekly drop-in group throughout the academic year. The Women’s Circle is a safe and confidential space for women who have experienced gender-based violence such as sexual assault, harassment, stalking or abuse. The sessions are supervised by a professional counselor, and the size of the support group varies from semester to semester.
