No. 1 recruiting class again
The USC women's
volleyball team used the addition of last year's top recruiting class to
make its first appearance last season in the Final Four after a 15-year
absence, and the Women of Troy just may accomplish that feat once again in
2001.
Both Volleyball
magazine and Student Sports Magazine named USC's incoming class No. 1 in
the nation, the second consecutive year that Volleyball magazine has given
USC this honor. Joining the already loaded Women of Troy next season are
Emily Adams (Xavier College Prep, Phoenix), Alicia Robinson (Central High,
Phoenix) and Keao Burdine (La Habra High, La Habra, Calif.).
Pacific-10
Conference rivals Stanford and UCLA's incoming classes were ranked in the
top 5 by both publications.

Rain delays

For the
second straight day, the game between the No. 5 USC baseball team and San
Diego has been postponed. It will be played on March 14 at 5 p.m. This is
the fourth straight cancellation for the Trojans.
The rain also
washed out the No. 23 USC men's tennis match against crosstown rival UCLA.
The match has been rescheduled for March 6 at Marks Stadium at 1:30
p.m.

First step

Looking for
its first national championship since 1938, the USC ice hockey club team is
one step closer as it defeated Siena College, 6-4, Wednesday in first round
action of the ACHA Division II National Championships at the Forum at
Fishers Ice Arena in Indianapolis. The Trojans take on Ferris State today
at 6:45 a.m.
