• ACCOMPLISHMENTS

    2006

    The Advocate College Guide for LGBT Students named USC among the Top 20 Best of the Best LGBT-Friendly Colleges And Universities.

    The Gender Equality National Index for Universities and Schools (GENIUS) highlighted USC as a diversity leader for inclusive non-discrimination.

    The GLBT Student Assembly received the USC Campus Activities Tommy Award for Student Organization of the Year.

    The Division of Student Affairs honored the LGBT Resource Center with an Outstanding Program Award for the LGBT Staff & Faculty Allies Program, which aims to educate supportive faculty and staff Allies about current issues affecting the LGBT Community.

    2007

    USC was recognized with a five-star rating by the Campus Climate Index for its support of LGBT students.

    2008

    The GLBT Student Assembly received the USC Campus Activities Tommy Award for Student Organization of the Year.

    The Los Angeles City Pride Heritage Month Celebration, the USC LGBT Community was honored with an Achievement Award by the City of Los Angeles for our strong commitment to LGBT programs and services.

    The Division of Student Affairs honored the LGBT Resource Center with an Outstanding Collaboration Award for OutReach and the work this program initiates with community partners including local high school Gay Straight Alliances (GSAs), USC Admissions, USC Volunteer Center and many more.

    2009

    The Division of Student Affairs honored the LGBT Resource Center with an Outstanding Collaboration Award for MUSCLEBOUND, an event co-sponsored with USC Athletics that dealt with gay and straight body image issues for men.

     

  • SERVICES

    1) Assist undergraduate and graduate/professional student organizations with their leadership development, program opportunities and collaboration with additional campus departments;

    2) Educate LGBT and supportive Allies faculty, staff and students about current issues affecting the LGBT Community through monthly discussions;

    3) Coordinate the graduation ceremony called "Lavender Commencement Celebration" with GLBTA and Lambda LGBT Alumni Association;

    4) Promote and manage the LGBT Peer Mentoring Program;

    5) Plan Generation Queer, an Emerging Leadership Retreat in the spring semester for first year and transfer students;

    6) Network with local Los Angeles LGBT resources;

    7) Assist with the development of uRap, a confidential discussion group;

    8) And much more!
