Amy Johnson, Ed.D.
Amy Johnson is the associate dean of students responsible for overseeing Orientation Programs, Student Outcomes Research, Student Publications, University Publications and the Volunteer Center. She has worked in higher education for nearly 10 years and is involved in the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) and the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE).
Amy has masters and doctoral degrees in higher education from the University of Pennsylvania (where she worked prior to coming to USC) and a bachelors degree in English and communication from the University of Puget Sound. Amy holds an assistant professor appointment in the Rossier School of Education and presently teaches an introductory student affairs course in the masters program. She appreciates USCs focus on the arts and humanities as well as research, encouraging her to pursue her own research interests: living-learning environments (primarily residential colleges), distance education and creative uses of technologyparticularly as a teaching/learning and student services delivery tool.
