Patricia Tobey, Ph.D.

Patricia Tobey

Patricia Tobey, associate dean of students, oversees the Center for Academic Support, where she develops academic support programs and university-wide intervention strategies for at-risk students and provides leadership in developing assessment strategies for student learning outcomes in higher education. In addition, she holds an associate professor of clinical education appointment in the Rossier School of Education. As a specialist in postsecondary administration and educational and counseling psychology, she teaches courses in educational and psychological assessment, research and evaluation, counseling psychology and college student development.

Patricia earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology at Boston State College, a master’s degree in counselor education at the University of Massachusetts, Boston and a Ph.D. in counseling psychology at USC. She is a member of Psi Chi and Phi Kappa Phi.

As a licensed psychologist, she collaborates with the Student Counseling Center as director of training for USC’s APPIC Member Post-doctoral Fellowship Program in College Student Mental Health with specialities in disabilities and sports medicine. In addition, she supervises postdoctoral fellows and other mental health trainees in psychology.
