George Bahamondes is a senior majoring in business administration and minoring in Spanish. A native of East Los Angeles, George arrived to the University of Southern California after graduating from Loyola High School in 2004.
Currently, George serves as USC Program Board's Latino/a Student Assembly (LSA) Executive Director, which is comprised of 17 student organizations, the USC Latino Floors, and El Centro Chicano. As LSA's Director, George oversees events both on- and off-campus, works closely with the USC Student Government and other university administrators, and oversees a $48,000 budget.
A founding member of La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity Inc., George received the 2007 USC Tommy Award for Excellence in Cultural Programming and was instrumental in the organization’s recognition as the 2007 Greek Organization of the Year. “I’ve had the privilege to work with George, one of USC’s most prominent Latino student leaders”, says Alejandra Bonilla, Assistant Director of El Centro Chicano. “George has exemplified student leadership by showcasing it through his work, dedication, involvement and academics,” she later adds.
To George, the best part of the Topping Family is that it is “a small and tight-knit community on campus.” |
