See Milk Screening at Leavey

Monday, August 31, 7-9 p.m.
Leavey Library Auditorium

Milk, the Academy Award winning film about California’s first openly gay elected official, returns to the screen for a one-night showing in Leavey Library. The biographical film about the life of gay rights activist and politician Harvey Milk won Oscars last year for best original screenplay and best actor.

Sponsored by the LGBT Resource Center, the event will feature a discussion with Joseph Hawkins, anthropology lecturer for the USC College of Letters, Arts and Sciences and president of the board of directors for ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives. Following the screening, Hawkins will speak about his personal relationships and interactions with individuals depicted in the film.

There is limited seating and guests are encouraged to RSVP at lgbt@usc.edu. For more information, visit the LGBT Resource Center or call (213) 740-7619.
