Alpha Mulugeta

Alpha Mulugeta, a senior from San Francisco majoring in psychology with a minor in musical theatre, makes positive changes on campus for members of the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Trangender (LGBT) community.

Alpha’s involvements are widespread, and his hard work and determination touch many. Currently the resident advisor of the Rainbow Floor (a floor devoted to LGBT residents), Alpha is involved with the Gay Lesbian Bi Transgender Association (GLBTA) and works for the LGBT Resource Center. He is also involved with the community service organization OutReach, Psi Chi Honor Society and the African American Honor Society. In addition, Alpha works for the “Virtual Sex Project” – a study being conducted by the Annenberg School for Communication.

While at USC, Alpha has stayed true to his passion for dance and continued an active role in theatre productions, including his involvement with the USC Repertory Dance Company. “I appreciate all of the support I have received and the opportunities I've had to pursue such diverse fields of study,” he said. “I also love the pride and energy this school has, as well as all of the people I have gotten the chance to know here.”

After graduation, Alpha plans to work for a year and then return to graduate school to pursue a master’s degree in public policy.
