Gary Lee

Gary Lee, a junior majoring in political science from Albuquerque, New Mexico, is one of two new 2006 orientation coordinators (OCs) recently selected from a competitive pool of former orientation advisors.

Gary serves as a peer advisor and mentor to a team of 21 undergraduate orientation advisors. As an OC, he helps facilitate the transition process for approximately 3,000 first-year and transfer students, as well as their family members.

“My experience has been great here at USC,” said Gary. “Orientation was an important part of my introduction to the university, and I've been blessed with the opportunity to pay it forward.”

Gary’s involvement in the USC community extends far beyond the Orientation Programs. He also participates in a wide range of campus organizations and activities, including the Korean Student Association, Student Senate, Asian Pacific American Student Assembly (APASA), Asian Pacific American Student Services (APASS), Asian Pacific American Leadership Council, Political Science Undergraduate Association, Unruh Political Student Association, Political Student Assembly and College Democrats.

After graduating in May 2007, Gary hopes to participate in a fellowship in Sacramento or an internship in Washington, D.C. for a year and then attend law school or graduate school. He hopes to pursue a career in public service and enter national politics, possibly all the way to President of the United States.
