Jose "Joey" Beltran
Jose Joey Beltran, a senior from Freeport, Texas, majoring in music industry and minoring in theatre, was recently hired as one of the two orientation coordinators.
As an orientation coordinator, Joey will work with Orientation Programs to recruit and train the next class of orientation advisors. In addition to his work with Orientation Programs, Joey also belongs to the Entertainment Industry Student Association.
One of the things Joey likes best about USC is that [it] has roots and history deeply seeded in a tradition of excellence and success. I take great pride in being a Trojan, and I think it's because I am in love with being a part of a university that can rightly call itself an Ivy League of the West Coast.
We may not be as old as Harvard or Yale, but we deserve the recognition. We Trojans know how to nurture each other and come together and support one another. That's why I enjoy acquainting incoming students to the university. It's an important step, and it should mean as much to them as it has for me, said Joey.
Joey will graduate in May 2007 and maintain his orientation coordinator position until August of 2007. Then he plans to pursue a job within USC Student Affairs or in the music industry.
