Laurie Cox
Laurie Cox, associate director of the Office of International Services, brought regional recognition to the varied talents of OIS staff members at the recent NAFSA: Association of International Educators Region XII conference in Anaheim. Cox wrote the lyrics for a skit titled Bureacracy Blues, which pointed out the multitude of everyday problems faced by international students, particularly those who do not have jobs and therefore are not eligible for Social Security cards. The skit, which involved more than 20 people, also featured OIS staff members Anh Nguyen, Tina Nguyen and April Williams.
Laurie has worked at USC for 10 years. She received her masters degree from Boston University and is pursuing an Ed.D. in educational leadership from USCs Rossier School of Education, which she plans to complete in May 2006. Laurie belongs to the National Association of Foreign Student Affairs and International Educators.
