Lynette Merriman
Lynette Merriman, associate dean of student relations, is one of Student Affairs unsung heroes.
Lynette has worked at USC for 20 years. Before joining the Division of Student Affairs, she worked for the Office of Undergraduate Admission, Thornton School of Music, the Department of Nursing and the School of Pharmacy.
Lynettes wide array of contacts on both the University Park and Health Sciences campuses provide her with a network of friends and colleagues she can call on to help troubleshoot problems students present to her on a daily basis. She personally follows up with every student who comes to her, every parent who calls on her, every phone call DPS routes to her and every faculty member who seeks her advice. For colleagues in the Division of Student Affairs as well as around campus, Lynette is the go-to person for advice on resolving student problems. For her, no student issue is too challenging to solve. I love working with USC students they are amazing, said Lynette.
Lynette received her Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from USC with a certificate in public administration. She received her master of arts degree in higher education from the University of California, Los Angeles, and is currently pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership there. She is a member of the International Leadership Association (ILA) and the National Association of Student Personnel Administration (NASPA).
