Randy Herrel
Randy Herrel, a junior majoring in business with a minor in professional and managerial communication from Newport Coast, California, brings fresh ideas and energy to his position as president of the Intrafraternity Council (IFC).
Having served as vice president for scholarship last year, Randy is well respected in the greek community. He has the difficult task of keeping the largest greek community in the west moving forward and has implemented numerous positive changes in the past two years.
Currently, Randy is working on encouraging greek alumni to get involved with the greek community. USC has one of the strongest alumni programs in the nation, and the IFC could really benefit from having regular communication with its past brothers, he said.
Randy also hopes to lead the IFC board toward adopting a year-long rush process with events that would encourage interaction between members and non-members of the greek community. In doing so, Randy hopes to encourage students who might not consider rushing to become interested in greek life.
What I like most about being a part of the Trojan Family is the people you meet, said Randy. Throughout my college tenure, I have been able to meet individuals from all over the world who had been through experiences I never knew occurred. Meeting these people and hearing about their experiences have really given me a better perspective on how to live and what I want to do in life.
Upon graduation, Randy hopes to work for an investment banking firm as a research analyst. Returning to school to earn an MBA is also in his plans.
