Stephanie Margaret
"An exemplary student leader" and "the model of what it means to be a member of the Trojan Family" – that’s how Tom Studdert, director of Orientation Programs, describes Stephanie Margaret.
As an Orientation Coordinator, Margaret will lead 25 orientation advisers (OAs) during next summer’s on-campus orientation sessions.
As part of orientation, advisers lead four sessions to introduce new students to USC. The first, a skit covering common student pitfalls, is followed by three sessions that address student life and the university’s core values and traditions.
"I really want to stress the importance of these sessions to next year’s OAs," says Margaret. "These four sessions can make such a difference, and the OAs need to be comfortable, conversational and knowledgeable."
Margaret first worked with Orientation Programs in summer 2007 as an OA for the Hawaii orientation session. Knowing she wanted to be an OA again, the following summer she took part in the on-campus sessions.
In addition to working for Orientation Programs, Margaret is also a resident assistant in the Radisson. A junior majoring in political science and psychology with a minor in forensics and criminality, she hopes to go to law school after graduating in spring 2010. Her dream job would be working for the FBI.
In her free time, she enjoys camping, cooking, reading and spending time with her family.
