Viannda Hawkins

Viannda M. Hawkins, academic advisor for the Office of College Advising, helps students explore their educational goals and develop a plan for success. A committed staff member and student advocate, she helps shape the lives of students at USC.

"Viannda served as our first graduate student advisor," says Corliss Bennett, director of the Center for Black Cultural and Student Affairs. "Her contributions to student development were far reaching, and she set the stage for the important role this position plays in our department."

In College Advising, Viannda works with students who minor in forensics and criminality and those interested in law school. She is staff advisor for several student organizations including the Sisters in Spirit, Anointed Vessels of Praise, USC Pre-Law Society and the Association of Blacks in Pre-Law Education. Viannda is also co-advisor of the African American Honor Society and a member of the Center for Black Cultural and Student Affairs Advisory Board.

In May, Viannda will complete her doctorate in educational leadership with an emphasis in higher education administration from USC. She earned a master’s degree in post-secondary administration and student affairs at the USC Rossier School of Education and a bachelor’s degree in history at UCLA.

After completing her degree, Viannda plans to continue working at USC and helping students reach their educational goals. What she likes most about USC are "the students and the sense of family, as well as networking and professional development opportunities."
