Research at USC

USC is one of a small number of premier research institutions on which the nation depends for a steady stream of new knowledge, art and technology. It ranks ninth among all private universities in America in dollar volume of federal research support. Many of the university's research programs are national leaders in their fields, such as gene therapy, aging, diabetes, pediatrics, cancer, genetics, earthquake phenomena, multimedia and the Internet, and information processing.

Dr. Randolph Hall

Dr. Randolph Hall is USC's Vice Provost for Research Advancement. He leads the university's efforts to bridge basic and applied research, substantially increase USC's share of federal and foundation research support, and develop partnerships with major research universities around the world. His office works to build strong relationships with federal government agencies and foundations, in areas ranging from the biological and medical sciences, physical sciences, and engineering to the humanities and social sciences.
