Pedro Matos' research focuses on the behavior of institutional investors, in particular mutual funds, and their impact on corporate financial policies. His work has been published in the Journal of Finance and the Journal of Financial Economics and has been featured in the press, including in The New York Times.
Matos is a recipient of a ECB-CFS Lamfalussy Fellowship, a special prize by the European Central Bank to young researchers. He has received two large grants from the Portuguese Science Foundation, a project grant from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and two Inquire research grants.
Matos has consulted for a variety of organizations, including The World Bank and the Korean Development Institute.
