Infofilter Project

Information about the Infofilter Review Process

This is the Infofilter review process. Failure to follow these steps in an orderly and timely fashion will result in, well, we'll think of something dire at a later date.

The process is fairly simple, to facilitate the real job at hand: producing quality reviews. If you have not already done so, be sure to find out about INTEVAL, the mechanism Infofilter uses for review submission.

Review Process

Since reviews tend to go through several drafts, from initial posting to final version, we've worked out the following method to indicate the review's status. Remember, you must first join the INTEVAL list to become an Infofilter reviewer.

FIRST-DRAFT (e-mail header: REVIEW: review name)
submitted by REVIEWER to INTEVAL list.
COMMENT (e-mail header: Re: review name)
sent to INTEVAL by Infofilter Project participants. Contains comments, suggestions, criticism in reference to one or more reviews as submitted to INTEVAL. REVIEWERS can respond to points of criticism raised in COMMENTs, either through further revision or by comments of their own.
REVISION (e-mail header: REVISION: review name)
sent by REVIEWER to INTEVAL, usually in response to COMMENTs. Contains a revised version of an Internet resource review.
Edited reviews are posted to the Infofilter home page; only the latest versions are retained.
