The video streams are served from a RealMedia server running on a Sun Ultra Enterprise 4000 server with 4 UltraSparc CPUs and 1.5 GB of memory running SunOS Release 5.6.

Live Webcast Stream

This low bandwidth stream was encoded by a Dell GX-1 single 350-MHz Pentium II system with 128 MB of memory running Windows NT 4.0 Workstation.
The video signal was digitized with an Osprey 1000 video capture board. The video was fractal encoded on the Osprey 1000 hardware using ClearVideo Live software from Iterated Technologies. The audio signal was digitized by a Crystal Audio on-board audio capture device.
The target bitrate for this stream was 28.8 Kbps (24 Kbps of data), with 17.5 Kbps given to video and 6.5 Kbps given to audio.
The video image was a 176x144 pixel image at 15-bit RGB color with a frame rate ranging from 1 up to 7.5 frames/second. The audio signal was monaural.
