For generations, some of America’s leading composers have found a home at USC as members of the faculty. H. Robert Reynolds and Sharon Lavery lead the USC Thornton Wind Ensemble in a celebration of the Thornton School of Music’s renowned composition program.

The concert will include music both by past USC composers and current faculty, with a premiere for wind ensemble of Donald Crockett’s Dance Concerto with clarinetist Stefan Van Sant, Frank Ticheli’s Angels in the Architecture, Halsey Stevens’ Ukrainian Folk Songs, Ingolf Dahl’s Sinfonietta, Robert Linn’s Propagula, and Across the Desert (There Lies Home), a new composition by Bryan Kostors, winner of the 2013 USC New Music for Wind Ensemble Competition. Crockett and Ticheli will be on hand to speak about their pieces.

Presented by Visions & Voices: The USC Arts and Humanitites Initiative
Organized by the USC Thornton School of Music. Co-sponsored by Classical KUSC 91.5.
