Angel Stadium comes alive with the Spirit of Troy
The USC Trojan Marching Band played a pregame set before the getaway-day game between the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Angels.
The Spirit of Troy filled Angel Stadium last Sunday with thousands of USC fans in the stands and the Trojan Marching Band and spirit groups performing on the field. The entire band played a pregame set before the getaway-day game between the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Angels, performing the fight songs and new and old rock songs “Country Girl” and “Tusk.” Director Jacob Vogel then threw the ceremonial first pitch right over the plate to Angels catching coach Jason Brown, a USC baseball alumnus.

The Trojan Marching Band also played the national anthem before the teams took the field — and then the students were free to enjoy the game. The day before, band members had completed their 10-day band camp, so the game was a welcome respite before classes began the next day.
