Sculpted by Roger Noble Burnham, Tommy Trojan was modeled after different USC football players. On the bronze statue’s granite pedestal are inscribed the qualities of the ideal Trojan: “FAITHFUL, SCHOLARLY, SKILLFUL, COURAGEOUS, AMBITIOUS.”
Tens of thousands of Trojans have taken part in the continuing effort.
The commitment, presented at Thursday’s convocation ceremony, encourages students to display integrity, accountability, fairness and communication, and to value diversity.
